Critics Challenge Judges Have Spoken, and We Have It!

It's been a long hard slog since the final vote was cast and the Clayhouse Petite Sirah was named Wine of the Year at the sixth annual Critics Challenge International Wine Competition at the end of May.

Over these past couple of weeks we've staged a massive charity wine tasting, the annual Wine & Roses affair in San Diego, and waded through hundreds of comments from the judges on the winning wines at the Critics Challenge.

We put Wine & Roses to bed on Monday as the tents came down and all of the decorations were packed up for another year, and today, finally, we have posted the Critics Challenge judges' comments from last month's competition. Click here to view the results and tasting notes. competition.

These brief comments from the judges are what make the Critics Challenge truly unique among wine competitions. I liken them to sound bites, for that's how the winning wineries use them.

What they do for consumers is reveal some of the thinking behind the award, and to my way of thinking this gives the accolade more meaning. We hope you agree!
